Beyond Safe Forum
Real-life Safety
Automotive manufacturers are working hard to develop innovative safety technologies and ADA systems that help drivers to avoid potential collisions and reduce the potential impact speed when a collision cannot be avoided.
Predicting the real-life safety benefit of active safety systems is a complex task. Methods are required that can investigate the effectiveness of these systems in real-life situations. Furthermore, the information of real-life safety scenarios can help to significantly improve and speed-up the development of active safety systems. This requires the collection of real-life data from a variety of sensors and subsequently, scenario generation based on the acquired data.
The goal of this forum is to share and discuss visions and ideas about real-life safety on the subjects of data collection, processing and scenario generation. This includes issues such as:
- Methods and approach
- Collection and handling large data-sets
- Real-time scenario recognition
- Efficient and selective data collection
- Ground truth scenario generation
- Virtual world generation
- ADAS data evaluation and benchmarking
